Communism in China as we know has played a major role in the countries political system over the past century. Chen Duxiu and Li Dazhao were the co-founders of the communist party in 1921. At the time China was in a world or turmoil ever since the end of the Qing Dynasty in 1911. For 10 years China was lost in a world with new ideas coming from all over the world. At the time, Duxiu and Dazhao saw an opportunity to bring change throughout a weakened China and they exploited it. The communist influence being brought by them and powers such as Russia influenced the Chinese way of thinking that Communism had new beliefs of the world and that all people should be seen as equal under the new government. In essence, gay marriages are practiced through sanctification, and couples are able to witness to the entire community with regard to how such unions are fruitful and beneficial to th e married couples. While many supporters of heterosexual marriages favor it for the sake of bearing children, theologians argue that there are countless heterosexual couples who do not have children because of various reasons like impotency, advanced age, or disability.13 However, these shortcomings do not limit them from remaining married and fulfilling God’s purpose and intension for marriage. Some couples undergo medical procedures to allow them to conceive or impregnate, yet they are blessed in the church without being undermined. Moreover, same sex marriages equally provide safe homes, which provide love and safety for raising children. This therefore does not make same sex marriages different from traditional marriages, where child-rearing is highly revered. Supporters of same sex marriages argue that the position held by Christians who only recognize heterosexual unions is inadequate. By extending these boundaries to accommodate gays and lesbians, it would be easier to connect the church with the love of Christ for everyone. As much as the world has always known that marriage only takes place between people of the opposite sex, it is worth noting that this might not be always true. For instance, a person may be of the opposite sex but appears different to his or her partner, a case which undermines marriage.14 When married people do not see one another as members of the opposite sex, the scenario is likely to lead to infidelity and divorce instead of maintaining high standards of faithfulness and truthfulness. In other words, same sex marriages present a better picture of the love of Christ. Furthermore, there is more satisfaction in same sex marriages as compared to opposite sex unions. Under normal situations, gays and lesbians can enjoy satisfaction without necessarily being in marriage even though members of these unions practice high levels of sanctification. In fact, people in heterosexual marriages need sanctification just like those who h ave covenants to marry a person of the same gender.15 Moreover, self-expression does not depend on marriage among gays and lesbians; they only require marriage for the purpose of self-donation, and experiencing daily challenges and rewards of appreciating one’s neighbors. The question, which many people are confronted with, revolves around changing one’s sexual orientation to fit the demands of the state or society. Such attempts are considered to be unethical because it goes against one’s integrity and creates room for betrayal of relationships, in which we are recognized as witnesses. On his part, God endeavors to heal, transform, covert, and change sinners to allow them to enter into a spiritual relationship. If the church is not interested in promoting these unions by destroying orientation, then it is misguided. This means that we do not need scientific theories and discoveries to explain the existence of varying sexual variations among members of the socie ty.16 From a genetic point of view, the sexual orientation of a person starts in the womb during all the development stages. Importantly, it is God who knows people when they are still in their mothers’ wombs, just the way he knew Jeremiah. The Church is therefore supposed to help people understand themselves better and know how these gifts are consecrated by God, before a person is born. In addition, churches should be concerned with nurturing relationships, to allow parties in these unions to offer themselves for God’s service. This can only be achieved if marriage is extended to recognize gays and lesbians, who were also known by God before they were born.17 Christian Stance Even though there are Christian bishops and priests who support same sex marriages, these unions remain sin before God because He created male and female and joined them in marriage. God was pleased with everything He created, including human beings.18 Additionally, a godly marriage between a ma n and a woman is supposed to depict the ultimate relationship between Christ and the Church. This therefore excludes same sex unions from the holistic definition of marriage. Referring to such partnerships as marriage is illegal, and outright dishonest before God. The bible also carries countless verses, which denounce homosexual behaviors. In fact, God only allows believers to engage in sexual activities within the confines of marriage. Gays and lesbians therefore undermine the true identity that was created in defining human sexuality.19 Conclusion In general, the issue of same sex remains debatable, since there is no consensus on the true definition of marriage and God’s perspective towards homosexuals. While Christians hold that marriage was ordained by God for men and women, liberals argue that it is God who creates homosexuals with different sexual orientations. Like the sons and daughters of God, homosexuals are known and named in their mothers’ wombs before bei ng born. This means that the true love of Christ to the church can only be realized if marriage boundaries are extended to accommodate homosexuals. King Arthur If the name of King Arthur is mentioned, I suppose what comes to mind is not so much one person as a whole array of characters and themes, a montage so to speak. Of course we do think first of the King, the magnificent monarch of a glorified or idealized medieval realm. But we think also of his Queen, of the fair and wayward Guinevere, we think of his enchanter, Merlin, who presided over his birth, who set him on the throne, who established him there in the early and traveled days of his reign. There were the knights of the Round Table, vowed to the highest ideals of chivalry, and the greatest of them, Sir Lancelot, who, of course, has a tragic love affair with the Queen. There is another great love story, that of Tristan and Isolde, the theme of Wagner's Opera. We think of the place where these people assembled, Camelot, Arthur's magnificent, personal castle and capital and then, there are stranger things; the story of the quest for the Holy Grail, giving a spiritual dimension to the whole story and there is magic. Not only the magic of Merlin but the magic also of his strange, ambiguous student, the women, the enchantress, Morgan LaFay. And at the end is the tragedy of Arthur's downfall, his passing away at the isle of Avalon and another mystery that we do not know what really happened to him that he was said to be immortal, that one day he would return and restore the golden age in his country. I suppose, the version we know best is the one that was composed in the 15th century. This is the great English version of the story, compiled out of earlier versions by the creative genius of a rather mysterious and cryptic figure, the knight, Sir Thomas Malory. Quebec is known as the homeland of the French-speaking Canadians. Its uniqueness in culture was guaranteed by the British North American Act and is a cornerstone of Confederation. Prime Minister Pearson encouraged and advertised the idea of making the Canada as a homeland for French-Canadians and not merely for the Quebec. 1 In 1837, both Upper and Lower Canada had their rebellion opposing the proposed union between the two halves of Canada.The Canadian Patriots who are the Quebecers would like to separate from the British colonialism and led themselves in any affair which for their own benefits. This rebellion was not materialized and there were twelve Patriots in Lower Canada who were put to death and hung in Montreal. Aside from that, there were sixty patriots who were exiled to Australia. In Upper Canada’s case, the rebels who had rebellion were also sent to Australia. Durham suggested the assimilation of the French Canadians through the legislative union of the Canada to secure harmony and progress9 which they have had between 1791 and 1837. 10 This report of Durham was favored by the reformers in UC and NS which in favored the idea of responsible government but was not accepted by the Upper Canada’s Tory elite. The Montreal Tories showed their support to the union for having a reason of finding it as a way of overcoming the French Canadian opposition for the ir plans in economic development . 11Durham report was mistakenly perceived about its suggestion in assimilating the French Canadians that it came from an intolerant, racist attitude. Durham had his three reasons why he suggested assimilation. Jefferson, the third President of the United States, remembered primarily for two great accomplishments: he authored the Declaration of Independence and made the greatest land acquisition in our nation's history, the Louisiana Purchase. Both subjects, have been written about extensively, yet one question persists: did Thomas Jefferson exceed his fiduciary duty to the Constitution of the United States when he started the proceedings that led to the Louisiana Purchase? Thomas Jefferson was a pragmatic, articulate, and, at times, capricious leader of a young nation that had recently gained its freedom from the monarchical Great Britain. Jefferson, a Democratic Republican, made his ascension to the presidency at a time when the Federalist Party was in decline. The Louisiana Purchase would bring a great deal of discomfort to the Party. The only opposition to the purchase would consequently be the Federalist Party which, ironically, had always been in favor of a broad construction of the Constitution. The broad constructionist believed that the Constitution held implied powers to the central government. The people who interpreted the Constitution in this fashion backed the notion of strong centralization of power. The strict constructionist, like Jefferson, believed that if something in the Constitution was not described then it was unconstitutional. They also feared the abuse of power obtainable by the central government by a broad interpretation of the Constitution. Since 1493, France and Spain alternately held the Louisiana Territory. Towards the end of the 18th century the jurisdiction of the territory was under Spanish rule. New troubles were brewing on the European continent and the Americans feared that the Louisiana Territory would fall into the hands of the British. This would place the British on three sides of the Americans and they were prepared to go to war to avoid this. The Spaniards, uncertain of their British ally and fearing an insurrection from within the Louisiana Territory, signed the Treaty of San Lorenzo or Pinckney's Treaty with the Americans in 1795. Under terms of the treaty, Americans were allowed to deposit goods for overseas shipment at the port of New Orleans free of duty. The Spanish also ceded control of the Ohio River Valley to the Americans. This pleased the majority of Americans who were in favor of westward expansion, many of who were by now settling illegally in the Louisiana Territory. Securing the Mississippi River for commercial purposes was of the greatest importance to most Americans at the time. The desired peace of the country to be protected from outside interference was also the goal of those in favor of expansion. In 1799 Napoleon Bonaparte overthrew the French government and assumed control of France and her colonies. Bonaparte was anxious to build a western empire, perhaps to make up for his previous losses in Egypt. Bonaparte saw the conquest of the Caribbean island of Santo Domingo as his first step in his western expansion efforts. From Santo Domingo the French could support troops that they intended to post in New Orleans. By early 1801 American whites made up more than half of the population in upper Louisiana. In 1802 the first migration of Americans west of the Mississippi River begun and by now the Americans looked to wrest the Louisiana Territory away from the Spanish. This process is intended to know how important co-curricular involvement is and what its effects to the students’ academic achievements are. Since 1985, Colegio San Agustin (CSA)- Bià ±an has been providing its students quality Catholic education that enriches their knowledge academically. Besides, CSA- Bià ±an has been offering several co- curricular programs like authorized student clubs or organizations wherein each student is required to join, inside and outside school competitions, sports activities and many more. Prospective honor students, as active as they want to be, participate and take part in both academic and co- curricular programs. CSA- Bià ±an Junior High School Department follows DepEd Order No. 92, s. 2009 for the selection of honor students. The policy states that the 7-3 point scheme (7 points for academic performance and 3 points for co- curricular activities) shall be used in determining the final honors among non- graduating and graduating students. In Academic Year 2013-2014, there were 30 students from grade seven to third year high school who grabbed a spot in the honor roll. Their final ranks were computed based on 70% academics and 30% co- curricular. They, most probably, are equally excellent in both aspects. Co-curricular refers to activities, programs, and learning experiences that complement, in some way, what students are learning in school. In view of the fact that the researchers are potential honor students, they see the necessity to make an investigation  about this matter for they are sure that the outcome of this study would be beneficial not only to aspiring honor students like them but also to the administrators of the locale under analysis. Setting of the Study The study will be conducted at Colegio San Agustin-Bià ±an, which is situated at Southwoods Interchange, Juana Complex I, Bià ±an City, Laguna. It is a private school run by the Order of St. Augustine. Theoretical/Conceptual Framework This study was anchored on the following different evaluation and assessment concepts.
